Leaky Gut Syndrome

Leaky gut syndrome is sometimes referred to by its initials, LGS, and is also sometimes called leaky bowel syndrome. Leaky gut is a contentious issue among many in the allopathic (traditional) medical community. Most holistic practitioners, however, agree…LGS is a very real disease, and can have horrible effects on those who suffer from it, and fecal body odor is just one of them.

Before we can look into cures for leaky gut syndrome, we must first learn what causes it. Put as simply as possible, leaky gut is exactly what it sounds like; the contents of your bowels are leaking, only they are leaking into your bloodstream. This is what causes a fecal odor to seemingly emanate from your pores; because the foul-smelling products of your intestines are escaping into the bloodstream, the scent is distributed throughout your whole body. This means it generally takes the most convenient routes of “escape,” namely through your breath and sweat glands, which means it literally comes out through your pores.

Leaky gut can be caused and compounded by a number of factors; repeated use of antibiotics, poor diet, food allergies, and infections, such as candidiasis. Note that candidiasis can either be a separate disease, or part of the leaky gut syndrome diagnosis. Sometimes your healthcare practitioner can assist you in determining whether you have just one or both of these issues; other times the only sure way to make a determination is to begin treating one or the other, and see if an improvement in your symptoms occurs.

As mentioned earlier, some medical practitioners, particularly those not trained in a form of holistic care, will either miss or simply refuse to consider a diagnosis of leaky gut syndrome. I can reassure you, however, that this is a very real disease, and it can cause a whole host of symptoms from constipation and bloating to chronic fatigue and eczema. If you’ve noticed such symptoms recurring in addition to your fecal body odor, there is a strong chance that you are a victim of leaky bowels. Acting to correct what is wrong with your intestinal tract is the only way you will find relief from these symptoms. Ms. Brimeyer has the most-recommended leaky gut syndrome cure on the web, and with good reason…it works! Her site also gives a much better description of how and why leaky gut affects you the way it does, with helpful graphics and actual photos of how LGS affects the lining of your intestines! I urge you to check out her site and see for yourself that it is possible to beat leaky gut, and the fecal body odor it causes.

If that were to actually happen, you would die. Leaky gut is B.S..

      Hi Mike,

Perhaps I have over-simplified it a bit because I am writing for a non-technical audience, but I can guarantee you it isn’t B.S. I didn’t really want to get into the details of the brush border membranes of the intestines, and how they can be more open or more closed depending on a whole host of factors. If you’d like to learn more about the scientific reality of leaky gut, check out articles on PubMed.gov, like this one and this one.

Good luck in your search for body odor cures!
